God's love for each of us ...

This has been a very exciting, adventure filled year for our family!  Surprises, challenges, fears, tears, smiles, rewards and all have been blessings from our Heavenly Father as He further sculpts from within the caliber of people we continue to become!

Though family and friends read my blog on occasion I write primarily for our children, their spouses, our grandchildren, and extended family members.  Hopefully my blog will out last me and my posterity will enjoy accessing all of the information I continue to post to help inspire them and help them realize how blessed they are to be members of this incredible Latter-day Saint family circle.

Nothing is more important than cultivating ones testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; or remaining actively engaged in his church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It is through our faith and commitment to God's commandments and the principles of the gospel that we grow and remain strong.  Our lives are enriched and our path more sure in returning to our loving Father in Heaven after this mortal life if we remain proactively obedient in all things.

I bare my testimony to you that God lives and loves all of His children on this earth.  I love my many friendships and associations with individuals from diverse cultures, ethnicity, religious and political backgrounds.  Our friends practice various forms of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.  They are good people, parents, businessmen and women and civic and community leaders.  My life is richer with greater depth as a result of their influence.  With that said I feel it important to once again (as I have many times on my blog and through social media) share with all who read this, meet me on the street, sit in one of my classrooms or speaking engagements hear that God loves you!  He loves each of us so much he sent a savior, Jesus Christ, to us to teach us and set an example for us to follow.  And through Christ's love for us he atoned for our sins and short comings so that we might be forgiven and perfect ourselves so as to return to his presence and the presence of our Heavenly Father.  Christ's true church is on this earth today - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It is a loving, caring church where we learn to love and serve one another as Christ loves and serves us.

Being a serious member of his church gives me hope and direction.  It is my anchor in life and helps me seek to be the most effective woman, wife, mother, and grandmother I can possibly be.  I have taught or spoken to literally thousands of people from diverse backgrounds, age, work levels and so forth and the message I weave into every topic I address is of God's love for us and of our Savior's love for us; and their desire that we experience joy in this life and seek to reach our full potential.

Each of us are unique individuals with our own path to follow and story to tell.  Our talents, interests, experiences are as different as the vast array of flowers on this earth are different one from another.  However, we all have one God and one Savior and they are within whispering distance when we pray for guidance or comfort.  They along with the angels in heaven and each of our dear loved ones who have already passed from this mortal life are cheering for our success; and our ability to face trials and challenges with courage and sure faith that each is meant to teach and strengthen us.

Life is an extraordinary adventure everyone!  A joyous, sometimes zany, sometimes heart wrenching, but fulfilling and satisfying journey.  If you haven't already, kneel in prayer and ask your Father in Heaven if what I am sharing with you is true!  Take a sound risk and seek to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ and of his plan for you and your family.  Go to www.lds.org for more information or contact me directly.

Count your many blessings folks and may you enjoy a wondrous, adventurous, happy New Year in 2015.  As I always like to say, "Passionately INHALE life and EXHALE gratefulness!"

Yep - we sing in the car together ... all the time! (wink)

Jon and I, as well as our family, love to sing in the car together when we travel!  James Taylor is one of our favorites to sing along with.  While in St. George checking on the completion of our home it was a beautiful day with rilliant sunshine!  Little than a half hour away (higher altitude) there was a lovely dusting of snow.  Breathtaking vistas, great conversation, and harmony in the car with my sweetheart.

Crazy Christeson Christmas in Vegas!

Our second Christmas - Crazy Christeson Christmas in Vegas - was awesome as well!  Cam and Sarah flew in from San Francisco to meet up with us in Las Vegas for Christmas!  We drove as we wanted to check on our home to see how it is coming - can't wait - St. George will soon have two new residents and our home is going to be so beautiful!

Cam met us for Christmas Eve which was fun to have some Cam time and Christmas morning as we waited for Sarah to arrive wherein the festivities really began!!  Staying in an incredible hotel was great fun; and upon Sarah's arrival (she spent her Christmas Eve and day with her incredible family) we dined at a delicious buffet and then had a special family night focusing on angels and blessings.  I continued a delightful new tradition which we started this year with Ashley's family, shared gifts and had fun watching Cam find gifts Sarah had hidden around the room which represented moments of their dating/history.  It was adorable!  THEY are adorable!!

The next day we all went to the Las Vegas LDS temple to do a session together which was extremely special for all of us.  We love Sarah and feel she has already become a member of our family!   We dined various places and also enjoyed decadent deserts at the Bellagio Hotel.  We also separated for a while as we wanted the kids to have some fun alone time, especially since they had become engaged only a couple of days prior.

During our time together we also watched part of a Pens hockey game on TV; what can I say, we are all die hard fans of course!  We then enjoyed riding the High Roller, the world's tallest observation wheel at the LINQ's outdoor shopping/dining promenade.  It has pods which hold up to 40 people per pod rotating allowing for the viewing of Vegas from high in the sky!!  Also, enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner and fun entertainment at the Promenade.  Our entire time together we were laughing and sharing personal stories, running here and there and enjoying every moment being together.  Cam even surprised us with airline tickets to fly up to visit them for a weekend in the next couple of months - we can't wait!

Sarah is everything we have ever dreamed of for Cameron!  She is so emotionally healthy and well rounded.  Cheerful, positive, motivated, loving, spiritual, kind and a riot to be with.  We are so very excited for their upcoming wedding in the Oakland temple and having Sarah and her family become part of our eternal family circle!  She and Cam are madly in love and so compatible.  Sarah recently graduated from college in elementary ed and is now further completing her studies as a middle school math teacher; she served a mission for the church in Brazil as well.   We are very eager to meet her parents as they have reared a remarkable daughter!

PS  Her ring is absolutely beautiful! Cam - you did good (wink).  We loved
their engagement story also.  He was so excited and pulled it off without her even sensing what was about to happen.  Her parents adore him and gave their full approval :)

A Very Crazy Christeson Christmas!

Happy holidays - With Ash and Paul going on a cruise over Christmas with her in-laws we all enjoyed celebrating a wonderful early Christmas together!  Though it has been a tad odd not being surrounded by our own decorations and ornaments, making candy and baking, and all of our Christmas Eve traditions it has been delightful celebrating with the kidlets and enjoying their lovely hospitality!

We've enjoyed attending three of Ashley's students performances as music truly ushers in the magic of the season in my opinion.  We had a lovely family night and pre-Christmas morning - such fun being with our little snickerdoodle guy and his fun toys from Santa!

Also Ash surprised me by making one of my long held dreams come true!  She arranged with a friend to allow me to actually operate his humongous excavator!  Since I was a kid I have longed to experience operating some sort of backhoe or something!!  I was taken completely by surprise thinking we were off to take some family pics with some cows LOL and low and behold her friends had it all set up for me to experience this wonderful opportunity!  She also made another wish come true - sending us off to Michael McLeans live performance of The Forgotten Carroll's!  We have LOVED this music for years and to actually see this stage performance live with he and his family members performing was incredible!  It's truly been a delightful on-going Christmas; the best part has been living with Ash and Paul these past few months while our home is finished; we love them with all of our hearts!

 Fun card class with Ash!

12/25 Merry Christmas again everyone! Sunshine and palm trees await us. Christmas with the Christeson's soon to begin.  It has been very exciting to meet up with Cameron and Sarah in Vegas to also celebrate Christmas. We've had a terrific Christmas Eve with Cam and now Sarah arrives in time for a sumptuous family dinner, gift sharing and a special family night focusing on angels and blessings; and then we are all off in the morning to do a temple session in the Las Vegas temple! Our spiritual focus followed by crazy fun for the days to follow. This has been very unique and exciting holiday thus far.

On our way to meet up with our California kids we enjoyed stopping by our home to see how it is coming along - I am SO EXCITED and can't wait to move in!!  All of the fun with Ashley, Paul and Connor combined with Cameron and Sarah plus our recent visits back and forth to our home has made this holiday season very unique and oh so special.

Me and my dear fairy god-mother (literally!) Jane Robinson!  I have loved her since I was a child; she was a dear friend of my mom's and over the years she has been such a magical, whimsical influence in my life.

We're in Vegas baby and having the time of our lives!!  We miss Cam so very much though very happy for his successful relocation to California with regard to his career in Palo Alto and now engagement to Sarah!!

Congratulations Cameron & Sarah!

He did it! Cameron proposed to his sweet Sarah this evening and we couldn't be happier!! This is a story of faith and prayer. When we first met Sarah when she came to Pittsburgh to meet us and see Cam's Pittsburgh life first hand, it was as if I had known her before (heaven??). The spirit whispered to me, "Oh, there you are." - such a peaceful sense of calm came over me. Jon and I simply adore her as do Ashley and Paul; we wish them an eternity of happiness together!

Jesus Christ IS the gift!

There is nothing more significant or powerful than the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the gift - nothing compares! His life, light, and love give us direction in our lives as we serve others and rear our families using him as our example and guide. Love, mom xoxo

Christmas concert via the talented Ashley!

Ashley's second show choir performance was delightful!  Hours and hours of practice with the kids focusing on wonderful Christmas songs.  Parents, teachers and students simply adore her even when she has to be stern on occasion :)  She loves teaching music for all of the students 1st through 5th grades plus her show choir comprised of 3rd - 5th graders.  This program had special piano and violin numbers performed by the kids, a beautiful piece sung while signing, and other awesome Christmas favorites!  We are so proud of the incredible woman she is.  Excellent wife, mother, teacher and of course daughter!

Fun family dinner at Zupas after the concert :)

Baby had to stay home with his sweet baby sitter because after regular bed time
activities is just more excitement than a little guy can take (wink)
