It's true love for Cameron and Sarah!

Cameron and Sarah spent a fun weekend together in the San Francisco bay area which her family calls home!  Cam arranged a romantic sail boat tour of the bay; their guide let them steer the boat to their excitement and he even provided a darling lunch for them which included homemade cookies his wife baked.  Cam also enjoyed getting to know Sarah's parents as they graciously invited him to stay at their beautiful home where they played games, sang songs (Latter-day Saint Primary songs no less just like our family does), enjoyed interesting conversation, and he raved about her mom's cooking!!  He really likes her mom and dad a lot and is eager to meet her sister and brother as well!

Fast forward - we have now had the pleasure of having Sarah come visit our family here in Pittsburgh which has been delightful!  When I first met her the feeling and thought that occurred to me was, "Oh, there you are!"  As if I had known her in heaven and I turned around and there she was standing before me once again.  It was a very touching feeling I will always hold dear.  Needless to say our entire family is in love with our darling Sarah!!  She is a breath of fresh air; so well adjusted and well rounded with the sweetest, most cheerful personality ever!  She and Ashley have also become fast friends via long distance; they enjoy talking about various books they have read, among other things and both share a passion for pursuing work in the field of education, and can't wait to meet each other!!  I have no doubt that Sarah and Paul are going to hit it off as well and she will fall in love with our little Connor bear :)

While here she and Cam took a fun road trip to Washington D.C. where they did a temple session together in the Washington temple, and went to see the monuments at night which is the most extraordinary time to do so in my opinion.  While here in the burgh they also had great fun enjoying a romantic dinner on Mount Washington, taking the crazy-fun Just Ducky tour of down town history and trivia, going to a popular movie, and attended an exciting Pirates game, one of Cam's passions.  Sarah loved wearing her cute Pirates shirt and hat Cam bought her and seeing our city's incredible PNC baseball park.  We as a family also enjoyed a terrific stake BBQ dinner, fun conversation learning even more about her and her sweet family which ended with our traditional flaming snowballs for desert which tickled her :)  When Sarah first arrived Jon and I also took her to Shadyside to Pamela's for breakfast which is always a treat.

What an extraordinary woman she is!  Soon to graduate with a degree in education with the desire to teach middle school math and a love of the outdoors, hiking, etc., she is simply incredible!  What fun it is observing these two in love kidlets as they begin making future plans together and enjoy this awesome time of discovery as a couple!  Seeing how happy they both are, laughing, teasing each other, tenderly looking out for one another and observing the pride that beams from them when they look at one another is so endearing!  Sarah is definitely a keeper and has been warmly embraced into our family.

We sold our home! We're off to St. George and the painted desert!!

We sold our home!  And now we are about to begin our next exciting chapter in life; and new adventure as we decide which community and home we desire to live in.  We are very excited to be residing in the rugged, painted desert of St. George!  Though difficult to give up our Phoenix dream St. George as you can see is breathtaking with the coral mountains and soil amid a back drop of deep blue sky, sunshine, and green grass.  Plus palm trees grow there so the weather is incredible with no more harsh Pennsylvania winters encompassing ice storms and months of gray sky.  (We have treasured our Pittsburgh life and enjoyed countless memorable East coast experiences and people but we now look forward to a completely different environment and opportunities!)

My family used to spend spring breaks in St. George and I attended a semester at the university during college so the area holds fond memories.  Best of all we will not be far from our daughter, son-in-law and grand baby!!  We also have many extended family members and friends who grew up with Jon and I as well as dear friends from here in Pittsburgh who have also relocated there!  We're also excited to make new friends and enjoy different experiences as well.

We are so excited to be living near an LDS temple only a few minutes drive from us; also Las Vegas is only an hour and a half away for fun date nights enjoying fine dining, shopping and the wholesome entertainment we will choose to seek out.  Only a few hours from Provo and Salt Lake City in the other direction and delightful road trips up the California coast and elsewhere are planned.  We are so excited about what lies in store for us in this beautiful Canyon Land God created.

Welcome to our home ... Our darling new friend Sarah :)

Beautiful inside and out! Such a sweetheart; intelligent, articulate, personable, motivated, spiritual, cheerful and so much fun to be around ... The joys of making delightful new friends and welcoming them into your heart.

We're soon off to Pamela's to treat Sarah to a crepe pancake breakfast and a little slice of Pittsburgh! The Pittsburgh Strip District is foodie heaven and as authentic as it is fun. The one-half square mile shopping district is chock full of ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets and sidewalk vendors; bordering Downtown, this neighborhood is pure Pittsburgh. Or shall we go to the Pamela’s at Shady Side – a burb which is quaint, artsy, with a mix of historic properties, 1800’s row houses and store fronts now turned into eclectic urban chic eateries and shops. Dining at either Pamela’s location is an awesome treat and Christeson family tradition!

Our little snickerdoodle boy is growing up too fast!  Walking around like such a big boy and so pleased with himself!

Celebrating 39 Stellar Years of Marriage!

He caught my eye when I was only 14 years old; we were in a school play together at PGHS and that is where our friendship began to grow Six years later with each of us being just shy of 21 and 22, and a great deal of growing up and diverse experiences having been sandwiched in between, we two best friends set off on our grand adventure together! It may sound trite or too good to be true but in celebrating 39 years of an incredible, extremely blessed marriage we're still crazy in love with each other! Yup, he's the love of my life, a man of true integrity, cheerfulness, devotion, and affection. He's my eternal companion and inside we're still just those two crazy teenagers enjoying this wild ride called marriage and family life!

And now almost as old as dirt lol ... "Grow old along with me the best is yet to be, the last of life for which the first was made." I love you Jon Alan Christeson with every fiber of my being! xoxo

Allow the lives of others to inspire you to never give up!

The blessings of temples in our lives

A beautiful photo Cam took of the Washington LDS temple this week
